Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted on a bus that travels between Bolton and Westhoughton.
The incident took place on Wednesday 22 January at around 7:15 AM when the victim boarded the 607 bus at Bolton Interchange. At the second stop, a man and another woman also got on the bus.
It is believed that the man sat next to the victim before sexually assaulting her. Fortunately, another female passenger witnessed the incident, intervened, and helped the victim exit the bus safely.
The 607 bus route runs from Bolton Interchange to Westhoughton and Wigan, stopping in areas including Deane, Hunger Hill, and Westhoughton town centre. Police are urging any passengers who may have been on board at the time to come forward with any information that may assist their investigation.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Any information you have may assist with the progression of the investigation. If you are the woman who kindly assisted or have any details that could help, please contact us on 101 quoting log 570 of 22/01/25."
Anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward as officers continue their investigation.
