Here in Westhoughton, we don’t need a fancy property survey to tell us what we already know—this town’s a gem. But for those who like their excellence backed up with stats, we’ll take the win: Westhoughton has officially been named one of the best places to live in Britain.
According to a new ranking by Garrington Property Finders, Westhoughton comes in 100th out of 1,447 towns across the UK. That’s top 7 per cent territory. Not bad for a town that still lets you pop to the shops and see half your schoolmates, your hairdresser and your cousin’s dog all in one trip.
We’re also 14th best in the North West and 11th in Greater Manchester—which puts us well ahead of, say, the town of Bolton itself, which didn’t exactly sparkle in the results. Bolton clocked in at number 430. Oof.
